Obesity has become a great topic of concern as far as health is concerned, especially in India.
If you look at the Stats then, as per National Family Health Survey (NFHS), the rate of obese women in India of the age group (15-49) has increased from 11% to 15%.


As per the research, it is found that the number of Obese people is increasing at an alarming rate in well-developed countries like UK and US i.e. 1 out of 3 kids are Obese and India is catching fast.
The reason behind this change can vary from region to region and their Lifestyle but there are some common reasons that need to be paid attention on, so here is the list:

Change in food habits: 

Our elder generations were really healthy because they never got pizzas and burgers and that too, so easily available. Nowadays, we have got the habit of relying on junk goods because of a bundle of reasons. They are tasty and easily available. Also, we get most of the processed food items that can be cooked easily and quickly. These changes in eating habits have led to a remarkable increase in Obesity in India.

Sedentary lifestyle: 

Man is an animal who is made for a lot of physical activities as per the history. But nowadays, the busy lifestyle does not permit us to involve much physical activity. This has led to many of us in being a couch potato. On top of it, binging your favourite food items in front of laptops and cell phones is the culture of Metrosexual maniacs. These activities are conducive enough to fall in the category of Obesity.

Lack of sleep:

Heavy workloads and sleepless nights or just binge-watching your favourite show in Netflix, yes this has become part of our everyday lifestyle. We require minimum hours of sleep to remain healthy and this should not be skipped.

Misconception in parenting:

Children in India are becoming Obese at an alarming rate. In well-developed countries like the US, every 3rd child is Obese and India is catching this trend fast. The reason behind this is that most people think that their kids are well nourished if they are fat. This idea is completely false and a havoc for your child’s healthy life. This even leads them in living a sedentary lifestyle which is a hurdle in the Overall development of kids

Stress:

Every 4th individual in this millennial generation is stressed and the reason behind is multiple. Starting from the workload which takes the top position, also we see anxiety in school going students and adolescents and never forget the parents who are stressed in fulfilling their children’s responsibilities.
Involving in exercises is the best to keep away from stress because as it is beneficial not only for the body but also for the mind.
